St Brigid of Kildare was also known as brigid of ireland and is one of Ireland’s patron saints .
Brigid was an early irish Christian nun, and founder of several convents of nuns . Her feast day is 1st Feb.
Brigid Built her first convent beside a great oak tree , which became known as cull Dara or Kildare.
St Brigid mary of the Gael, was born in the mid fifth century, and was buried in Downpatrick beside St Patrick and st Colmcille .
